Ook dit jaar gaat Studio Brussel weer samen met haar luisteraars en een pak artiesten naar de bergen en meer bepaald naar Avoriaz.
Feest, sneeuw, fun en gezelligheid daarvoor staat de Studio Brussel Snowcase. We verblijven dankzij Pierre et Vacances in een super residentie in het autovrije Avoriaz. Skiën en snowboarden tot aan de deur van de residentie en amper 2 minuten wandelen om aan de Studio Brussel Snowcase après-ski bar te komen. Ook het podium waar de live concerten zullen plaats vinden liggen hier vlakbij.
Wil je er bij zijn wacht dan niet te lang en reserveer tijdig je plaatsje voor de fijnste skivakantie van de lage landen...

't Hof Van Commerce
't Hof van Commerce is een Vlaamse hiphopgroep uit Izegem, bestaande uit Flip Kowlier (Filip Cauwelier), BZA (Buzze of Serge Buyse) en DJ 4T4 (Kristof Michiels).
De raps gebeuren overwegend in het West-Vlaamse dialect en zijn veelal humoristisch van inslag, maar ook vaak politiek getint. Op hun cd's zijn vaak vele gastrappers te beluisteren.
Onder hen bijvoorbeeld Balo (ex-Starflam), Brahim, Riemeloare (De Nihilisten), TLP, Gabriel Rios, MC's Spok en Statiek (Indigenous), Peter Lesage en Nina Babet (onder andere Moiano). Elk lid heeft naast zijn carrière bij 't Hof van Commerce ook een solocarrière uitgebouwd.
"Ik heb altijd muziek gemaakt omwille van het spel", zegt Flip Kowlier. Het is een kriebel. Van zodra ik een instrument zie wil ik het vastpakken. Dit is het vak dat ik als kind al wilde doen: dat vond ik gewoon evident.
Niemand in Vlaanderen die daar rouwig om is. Zonder Kowlier waren tientallen jonge bands niet opnieuw in hun eigen taal, meestal het dialect, gaan zingen. Zonder Kowlier wisten we niet dat het allemaal een kwestie van organisatie is. En op 'De Man Van 31', zijn derde album, zet Flip Kowlier een grote stap vooruit als songschrijver en mens. Met gasten als Gabriel Rios en Isolde Lasoen, heeft Kowlier zijn meest persoonlijke plaat tot vandaag gemaakt, en zijn meest romantische. De romantiek heeft zeker een rol gespeeld, lacht hij. Ik ben vorige zomer getrouwd en nogal wat songs zijn liefdesliedjes, dat is dus duidelijk. Ik denk dat de plaat een stap vooruit is. Er staan toch geen songs op die me niet bevallen, en ik vind dat er meer muzikaal gevoel uit spreekt.
Flip Kowlier verbaasde in 2001 vriend en vijand met de release van het album 'Ocharme Ik'. In een productie van Wouter Van Belle, bevatte het album radiohits als "Welgemeende" en "Min Moaten". Het won twee Zamu-Awards en lanceerde een carrière als singer-songwriter voor de Izegemnaar, die tot dan zijn sporen verdiend had bij My Velma en 't Hof Van Commerce. In 2004 volgde 'In De Fik', waarvan het titelnummer een van de meest gedraaide songs in 2005 werd.
In 2006 won het Antwerpse viertal uit het niets Humo's Rock Rally. In de drie jaar daarna speelde de groep zoveel mogelijk live, waardoor hun sound de kans kreeg te rijpen. Begin 2009 barstte dan uiteindelijk hun kloppende muzikale zweer open in de vorm van een titelloos debuutalbum vol met vuile, ranzige indiepunk. De plaat werd geproduceerd door Bent Van Looy en collega-Poppers Reinhard Vanbergen en Niek Meul, en riep herinneringen op aan een jonge Nirvana, het ter ziele gegane McClusky en het nog steeds springlevende doch legendarische Shellac. Al even memorabel is "Indianen", hun bijdrage aan de Will Tura tribute "TuRaLuRa 2". The Hickey Underworld is puur rockgeweld met een verbluffende eigen sound: snoeihard maar zonder de melodie uit het oog te verliezen!
The man behind the name is Kristof Michiels, born in '73, deejaying, producing, and simply active as a musical artist since 1987.
His first platform was hiphopmusic, which was of course a much more open style in those days and as a crossbreed included house, funk and whatnot. It all really started for him after the Beasties and Run-DMC came to town in '85... In 1996 he released his first record, "Do you believe in Magick?", under the name of Magik Ballet Ensemble, which, along with its successor "What do you mean", gained him critical acclaim, but the greater succes only came with 't Hof van Commerce, a hiphopgroup rapping in flemish, together with mc's Serge Buyse and Flip Kowlier. They have scored big with 4 albums and a number of singles since then, with sales and succes topping some of the biggest pop/rockbands in Belgium.
DJ Bobby Ewing is a lot like a train. A party train. Electro, acid, house and breaks are the main roads. Usually he stays on track, but from time to time - when the time is right - he goes off the rails on a journey through the never ending musical landscape. Deep space boogie or 80s pop, disco or good ol' funk, B-Boy hip hop or even some soul classics may pass you by (and make you say my, my, my). At the end lies a drum 'n bass-line -- a wake-up call --- and then back on track again.
That's why he likes long sets, not to rush, but to take you hand in hand along his all time favourites. But Bobby E. won't change direction just because he wants to. He reads the crowd and tries to find the middle road between crowdpleasing and crowdteasing. Not like a jukebox, more like a Moodselector. Because Bobby E. knows what's good for you.
Martians are DJ Bobby E(wing) and King DJ. You might know Bobby from Discobar Galaxie, Shameboy or his solowork, while the much better-looking, smarter and frankly better-smelling King DJ is a.k.a. (DJ) 4T4 from 't Hof Van Commerce, Ultrasonic 7,... Both these extraterrestrials are all but new to the business of dj-ing and neither has a decent sense of humour. If you don't know them yet, you really must be completely unhip and out-of-fashion, because they are really hot and soooo cool. You really should be a fan if you're gonna be anybody in this business.
Despite Bobby's apparent lack of any talent or taste, these two have been the best of friends for ages and decided it was about time to share with their neighbouring planet, Earth, their mutual love for eachother, analog musical machinery, and great music.
The Whatevers
Amused and strongly inspired by eclectic jocks such as 2ManyDJ’s, Diplo, The Glimmers and Optimo, Dim and Kim took their adventures to the outside world (mostly nothing more than just a pub filled with a few lifted friends). In the great spirit of the rebellious Rockabilly era, they came up with the name "The Whatevers", two words that should perfectly describe the whole philosophy behind this project: shamelessly flirting with 50 years of edgy music without alienating any Garage Rockers, Rudeboys, Surfers, Punkers, B-Boys, Mods, Britpoppers, No Wavers, Rivetheads, early Ravers, Dancehall heads, Northern Souls and anyone from Bristol!
II Bop aka Sven de Leijer weet als bejubeld publieksopwarmer bij onder andere ‘De Laatste Show’ als geen ander hoe een publiek in vuur en vlam te zetten. De jongste telg van de drie, Mophito, organiseert de daFunk-feesten en brengt de nieuwste hits heet van de naald. En eMCee K, frontman van hip-hop-jazz-funk-in-your-face-band The Livest, zorgt dat dit alles in goede banen geleid wordt.
Dj TLP a.k.a. Troubleman is Belgium's most notorious urban dj. He hails from the city of Ghent which also brought the world the legendary dj teams The Glimmers and 2 Many DJ's. TLP started off in the music industry at the same time as these two teams. They soon became good friends and it was together with Mo and Benoelie (a.k.a. The Glimmers) that TLP learned his first tricks as a dj. He was also one of the residents alongside these giants when the now legendary Culture Club opened it's doors in 2002. He is the only dj of this team who is still resident at the Culture Club while The Glimmers and 2many dj's have conquered the world. While these other dj teams are more focused on electro and house music, TLP mainly deals with urban music.

They got massive support from both crowds and promotors at big festivals such as Couleur Café (Brussels), Laundry Day (Antwerp), Anitlliaanse Feesten (Hoogstraten), Feest ih Park (Oudenaarde), Polé Polé Beach (Zeebrugge), Sfinks (Boechout), Pukemarock (Puurs), ... and at clubs like Charlatan (Gent), De Casino (Sint Niklaas), Vooruit (Gent), KVS (Brussel), Zappa (Antwerp), Nijdrop (Opwijk), ...
They won Poppunt’s Vi.be contest twice and got thumbs up from deejays such as Turntable Dubbers, Diamond Bass (Portugal) & Merdan Taplak!
Organising their own Township parties in Ghent pushing Tropical Bass with international guests from Peru (Chong-X) to the Netherlands (Munchi).
They shared decks with artists like Freestylers, Partyharders, Netsky, The Prototypes, Douster, Grazzhoppa & many many more.

Avoriaz is een skistation van de Portes du Soleil dichtbij Morzine in de Haute-Savoie in Frankrijk.
Het is één van de 14 stations van het grote skigebied de Portes du Soleil, Avoriaz is centraal gelegen, het dorp is geheel autovrij en is zodanig opgezet dat overal naar toe geskied kan worden.
Het is niet zo moeilijk de auto uit dit dorp te weren: er zijn geen straten, alleen maar pistes. Zelfs sommige skiliften komen tot in het dorpscentrum want dit is de meest sneeuwzekere plek in het skigebied "Les Portes du Soleil". Je kan hier terecht met zeer uiteenlopende niveaus van skivaardigheid. Zeer ervaren en geoefende skiërs vinden een grote uitdaging in de "Mur d’Avoriaz",ook wel "Mur de Suisse" genoemd. Dit is een zeer steile piste met buckels die tot manshoogte kunnen reiken. Langlaufers vinden hier beslist wat naar hun gading, er zijn loipen van elke moeilijkheidsgraad, maar ze sluiten niet overal op elkaar aan. Eenderde van de loipen is zwart ingekleurd. Voor snowboarders is er een funpark.
